Webster, 80, of Wenona, retired owner of Webster's Grocery Store here and a former skipjack captain, died Wednesday of cancer in the Wenona home of a daughter, Nora Lee Webster, with whom he had been staying for awhile. Webster, 80, of Wenona, retired owner of Webster's Grocery Store here and a former skipjack captain, died Wednesday of cancer in the Wenona home of a daughter, Nora Lee Webster, with whom he had been staying for awhile. Born in Wenona, he was a son of the late Walter D. and Annie Somers Webster. He was a member and layspeaker of St. Paul's United Methodist Church here. Webster was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Manokin Lodge 106, AF and AM, in Princess Anne, and member of Boumi Shrine Temple in Baltimore. He was a former president of the Somerset County Board of Education and was a member of the Somerset County Planning and Zoning Board. Additionally, he was a former member of the Somerset County Democratic Central Committee, was a member and past president of the Deal Island-Chance Lions Club and was a director of the Blood Bank of the Eastern Shore. Surviving in addition to his daughter with whom he lived are his wife, Irene Twigg Webster, to whom he was married 62 years; another daughter, Gertrude Bozman, Wenona; two brothers, Clyde Webster and Clifton Webster, Wenona; a half-brother, Walter D. Webster, Salisbury; a half-sister, Josephine Holland, Greenbackville; a stepbrother, Emerson Evans, Baltimore; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Church with the Rev. John D. Scott officiating. Assisting will be the Rev. Linwood "Sonny" Benton Jr. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church tonight from 7 to 9, where a Masonic memorial service will be held at 8. Contributions may be made in the memory of the deceased to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or Faith Independent Church, both Wenona, Md. 21870, or Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, Md. 21801. Arrangements are being handled by the Bradshaw and Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. (The Daily Times, Thursday, 5 November 1987, p. 2)
