Description	:	HOSEA was the son of William Pierce Belew and Elizabeth (Chambers) Belew. He married M. E. "Betty" Pinckley on December 23, 1890, in Carroll County, Tennessee. Hosea and Betty were the parents of three sons--Jessie Ernest, George Bennie, and William Ezra Belew. The following obituary was found in the CARROLL COUNTY DEMOCRAT newspaper, Vol. 10, dated Friday, November 19, 1897, on file in the Gordon Browning Museum and Genealogical Library, located in McKenzie, Carroll County, Tennessee: HOSEA BELEW DEAD Hosea Belew, who got a limb broken at the Clark & Dalton Stave factory at Clarksburg about six or eight weeks ago, died last Tuesday from the effects of the wound. He was about 30 years old and leaves a wife and three children. Mr. Belew was a clever man and his death is greatly deplored by the community, and the wife and children have the sympathy of all in their sad loss. The burial occurred Wednesday at the Sellars graveyard."
