May 8 - Hosea Barnes a prominent farmer of Harford County, died last night at his home, near Aldino Postoffice, of old age. He was a very prominent Democrat and a life long member of the Presbyterian Church at Churchville. He was 84 years of age. A widow, two sons and three daughters survive him.}} Obituary (Aegis & Intelligencer, May 11, 1900) {{ Mr. Hosea Barnes - one of the oldest and most prominent farmers at the Third District died at his home near Churchville, on Monday night of general disabillity, aged eighty-five years. He was one of the oldest members of the Churchville Presbyterian Church and a life long Democrat. His widow, two sons; Rev George Barnes and Mr. Bennett H. Barnes and three daughters; Avarilla, Guliema and Sarah Barnes survive him. His funeral took place on Thursday, the interment being made to the Churchville Presbyterian Cemetery, Rev S.C. Wamot, E.D. Ficney and E.A. Colturn officiating. The pall bearers were; A.H. Minabough, William Webster, George J. Ficney, William T. Sawyer, Harris Archer and William McVey.}} Hosea lived to age 83.
