Description	:	Centenarian, Howard Andrew Willson, of Kearney, Nebraska, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at St. Luke's Good Samaritan Village, Kearney, Nebraska. Howard was born Oct. 7, 1908, in Lebanon, Kansas to Clarence and Amanda (Clemons) Willson. On May 14, 1934, he married Rozella Herndon in Lebanon, Kansas. She died Jan. 28, 1987. On Feb. 14, 1988, he married Gail Leggott of Elwood, Nebraska. Howard was born Oct. 7, 1908, in Lebanon, Kansas to Clarence and Amanda (Clemons) Willson. On May 14, 1934, he married Rozella Herndon in Lebanon, Kansas. She died Jan. 28, 1987. On Feb. 14, 1988, he married Gail Leggott of Elwood, Nebraska. Survivors are: wife, Cail Willson of North Platte, Nebraska; daughter, Betty Jo Gehring of Kearney, Nebraska; son, Bruce Willson and his wife, Peggy, of Minden, Nebraska; grandchildren and spouses, Michelle and Dan Dorsynski, Monica Roblyer, Greg and Denise Gehring, Lee and Beth Willson, Mark and Lori Willson, Scott Willson and Jeff and Jennifer Willson; 19 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Julia Allen; stepsons and families and a host of friends. After attending high school in Lebanon, Kansas he farmed with his father. He and Rozella farmed south of Lebanon, Kansas in the Stuart vicinity. In 1950, they purchased Lebanon (KS.) Grain Co. and moved into Lebanon, Kansas. In 1957 they purchased Elwood Grain Company and moved to Elwood, Nebraska. In June 1957, they adopted two children, Betty Jo and Bruce. Upon semi-retiring, they purchased a home in Vista, California. In 1984, they moved back to Lebanon, Kansas. Howard and Rosella would go on trips, oftentimes taking their grandchildren with them. Howard and Gail purchased their home in Kearney, Nebraska to be closer to his kids and the hospital. Howard was a lifetime member of the Christian Church in Lebanon, Kansas, Elwood and Kearney, Nebraska. He enjoyed golfing, ceramics, reading Western books and gardening. He also enjoyed watching Western movies and Husker games. Howard was proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a good father to his two children. Howard was preceded in death by: parents; brother, Robert Willson; sisters, Kathryn Jackson and Ruth Brock; great-grandson, Ghett Gehring; and son-in-law, Gerald Gehring. Burial was in the Oak Creek Church Cemetery, Lebanon, KS. Published in Kearney Hub on November 28, 2011
