Pitchard and Irene Hahn Pitchard. Mr. Pitchard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean War. He was born on July 1, 1929, in New Milford, Conn., and was a son of the late Walter B. Pitchard and Irene Hahn Pitchard. Mr. Pitchard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean War. He owned and operated Pitchard Sheet Metal for 13 years and was a member of the Page Valley Baptist Church. On July 6, 1957, he married Kathleen Lillian Davis Pitchard, who died on May 19, 2008. He is survived by two daughters, Barbara P. Shepherd and husband Glenn of Mount Jackson, and Diane P. Crockett and husband Lee of Bethesda, Md.; a son, Mark S. Pitchard and wife Sandy of Luray; a brother, Cleon Pitchard of Arizona; a step grandson, Jeremiah Shiflet of Fairfax; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Francis Lloyd, Robert E., John and Walter B. Pitchard Jr. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, at the Page Valley Baptist Church by the Rev. Gary Nicholson. Burial will be in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
