Read More	Reference: Source - Newspaper - Obituary Howard David Thompson passed away suddenly on Monday, October 31, 1983 in Owen Sound General and Marine Hospital in his 76th year. He was born in Huron Township on April 29, 1908, the son of George Thompson and Sarah Nesbitt. On April 28, 1934 he married Marjorie Nicholson. For 45 years they farmed on Lot 2, Concession 12, Huron and in 1979 they retired to William St. Ripley. Howard is survived by his wife Marjorie, one daughter Marie, Mrs. Allan Colling and one son Bert, both of Huron Township; and by three sisters, Olive, Mrs. Al Irwin, Viola, Mrs. Bill Stanley of Lucknow and Myrtle, Mrs. Alex Percy of Kinlough and one brother Harvie of Huron Township. He is also survived by grandchildren: John D. and Kathy Colling, Susan and George Tesseris, Nancy and Rob Cummings, Marjorie and George Humphrey, Mary and Arron Hackett, Laurie and Mike Gallant and several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and one sister Mary, Mrs. Albert Trafford of Hanover. The funeral service was held in Ripley on Wednesday, November 2, 1983 in the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Ruch officiating, followed by interment in Ripley cementery. The pallbearers were Morley Scott, Donnie Reid, Roy Collins, Donnie Forster, Ellwood Elliott and Seldon Benjamin. The flowerbearers where John W. Scott, Art Collins, Net Cote and Bob Thompson. He was a member of the Church of Ascension, Kinlough and St. Paul's Anglican Church, Ripley.
