For 35 years, Mr. Bentz was a plant foreman at Belridge Oil Co. near Porterville. He was a member of First Christian Church of Christ Disciples in Porterville, the A&A Scottish Rites of Freemasonry and the DAV of Bakersfield, Calif.; and was a member of the Porterville Lodge No. 303 AF&AM of Porterville. He also was a past master of the Masonic Lodge at Fellows, and received the 50-year pin from the Porterville Lodge in 1984.
