Grover, the son of Lewis and Georgia Miles Grover, was born Feb 8, 1919 in Dickinson County. He married Carol Anderson on Oct. 26, 1940 in Luverne, Minn., and they made their home in Clay County. Grover was a farmer, retiring in 1971. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in Normandy, Northern France, the Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was a member of the Dean-Underwood Post No. 10 of the American Legion in Peterson. Grover died Sunday at the Veteran's Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. Preceding him in death were his father; one brother, Lynn; and one sister, Mrs. Hazel Hockett. Surviving him are his wife; two sons, Harold of Lincoln, Neb, and Carl of Peterson, one daughter, Mrs. Velita Cox of Alta; one grand-daughter; his mother, Mrs. Georgia Grover of Langdon; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Stephas of Dickens, Mrs. Charlotte Alger of Graettinger, and Mrs. Eleanor Daniel of Spencer; and three brothers, Russel, Ervin, and Merle, all of Langdon. The Baumgarten Funeral Home is in charge of the service arrangements.
