Description	:	Howard G. Meierhenry, 104, of Fremont died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Arbor Manor in Fremont. Howard was born Aug. 6, 1907, on the farm near Arlington in the Telbasta area. His parents were Gustoff and Louise (Borcherding) Meierhenry. He grew up there and attended high school in Arlington. He farmed that same farm with his father for many years, until his parents moved into Fremont. Read More	Howard G. Meierhenry, 104, of Fremont died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Arbor Manor in Fremont. Howard was born Aug. 6, 1907, on the farm near Arlington in the Telbasta area. His parents were Gustoff and Louise (Borcherding) Meierhenry. He grew up there and attended high school in Arlington. He farmed that same farm with his father for many years, until his parents moved into Fremont. Then Howard and his wife, the former Opal Hansen, whom he married on June 17, 1934, in Telbasta, continued farming the family farm. In December 1959, Howard and Opal moved into Fremont and Opal then worked for JC Penney for 17 years. Howard went to work as a custodian for the new Fremont Senior High School as soon as it opened on Lincoln Avenue and was there for 19 years. After retiring, they enjoyed traveling, especially to San Francisco, where one of their sons lived. They were very supportive of high school activities and enjoyed many of the plays and musicals. Howard was a member of The Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: a son, Roger (and wife, Lynda) Meierhenry of Fremont; two grandchildren, Brenda (and husband, Mike) Kincanon of Fremont and Brad Meierhenry of Overland Park, Kan.; and two great-grandchildren, Abby and Ellen Kincanon of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his wife Opal on Jan. 31, 2003, and by a son, Dale, in 1994. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at The Presbyterian Church in Fremont with the Rev. Earl Underwood officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont with the family receiving friends from 7-8 p.m. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials are suggested to The Presbyterian Church and the music department of Fremont Senior High School.
