Howard was born on February 18, 1925, in rural Grimes, Iowa to Harry Bauman and Mary A.M. (Rothfus*) Bauman. He lived his entire life on the family homestead in rural Dallas County which was recognized as a Century Farm in 2011. Howard loved farming which is all he ever wanted to do. He was wrapping up the 2013 crop year and planning for 2014 with his sons on the day he passed. He married Agnes V. Tuttle on February 28, 1944 and together they celebrated 61 years together. Howard was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Grimes. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his two sons, Don (Colleen) Bauman of Grimes, IA, Darrell (Lynda) Bauman of Adel, IA; 7 Grandchildren, and 11 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marion and wife Agnes.
