He was born November 14, 1927 in Scott County, Indiana, the son of the late Homer and Roxie M. (Voyles) Zaring. Howard was married Oct. 9, 1944 to Helen (McCleery) Zaring, who survives. Howard was a retired mechanic for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana for 33 years. He was a member of Elizabethtown Christian Church in Elizabethtown, Indiana, where he served as an Elder and was a member of the Little York Lodge # 512 F & AM in Little York, Indiana. Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons: Billy Zaring of Columbus, Indiana & Bruce A. (Tammy) Zaring of Taylorsville, Indiana; two daughters: Joyce Hale of Greenwood, Indiana & Phyllis J. (Roger) Parks of Lafayette, Indiana and a sister: Helen Babbs of Brownstown, Indiana. Howard is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Frank, Emmett, Fred & Carl Zaring and one sister: Ruby Royce.
