He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Sarah McRoberts Robinson; his brothers, Raymond and Wayne Robinson; and his sisters, Margaret Wipf and Carol Robinson. Memorials may be designated to the Victor United Methodist Church or to Iowa County Hospice. In Loving Memory of Howard Laverne Robinson Howard was born the son of Milton and Sarah McRoberts Robinson on June 10, 1930 on the family farm near Masonville, Iowa. He was raised on the family farm and attended rural schools near his home. He graduated from Coggon High School with the class of 1949. Howard served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, where he served as a cook. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps on January 10, 1954, at Camp Pendleton, California. Howard was married to Myrtle McGrath on September 14, 1957, at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. To this union were born their sons, Dennis and Douglas. The couple resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa from 1957 until 1959, when they moved to Victor, Iowa. Howard was employed by IES Utilities as a linesman for thirty years until 1985. Howard was a member of the Victor United Methodist Church, the Victor American Legion, and served his community as a fireman in Victor for ten years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting deer, turkey, pheasants and quail. He also enjoyed fishing and bow hunting and was very proud of his bird dogs. He would take his family camping during the summer when his sons were young and continued this tradition for many years as a couple. The couple also enjoyed traveling to visit family in Colorado and Maryland. Howard is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Myrtle Robinson of Victor; his sons, Dennis (Joan) Robinson of Victor and Douglas Robinson of Victor; his grandchildren Blake and Lam en; and his sisters, Virginia Robinson of Manchester, Iowa and Lois Reineboth of Rogers, Arkansas. Howard passed away Friday, October 27, 2006, at his home in Victor.
