Description	:	Howard Luther Hamrick Jr., 92, of 104 Stockton St., died on December 25, 2010 at Hospice of Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Howard Luther Hamrick Sr. and Velma Nanney Hamrick. A funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Ellenboro. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Howard Luther Hamrick Sr. and Velma Nanney Hamrick. A funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Ellenboro. Burton Funeral Home in Shelby is handling arrangements∼Howard Luther Hamrick, Jr., 92, of 104 Stockton Street in Lattimore, died on December 25, 2010 at Hospice of Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, NC, he was the son of the late Howard Luther Hamrick, Sr. and Velma Nanney Hamrick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Kathleen Wimbley Hamrick and by a brother, Alton Hamrick. He was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ellenboro; was a former member of the Lattimore Lions Club and the Lattimore Men's Club. He was also a former member of the Boiling Springs Rotary Club. He was a noted supporter of the Bulldog Club. Mr. Hamrick spent 30 years as a broadcaster in Columbia, where he was program director at WIS Radio during the Quave dayes. He retired as sales manager for CBS Station WIS Channel 10 in Columbia, South Carolina. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Louise Clark of Columbia, SC and by many loving nieces and nephews and special friends J.B. Williams and Jamie Holtzclaw. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010at 3:30 PM at Bethel Baptist Church in Ellenboro with the Rev. David Easler and Dr. Wayne Blackwood officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund; 379 Main Street; Ellenboro, NC 28018 or Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
