Description	:	Conway...Howard Martin, age 77, of Antioch Road, was called home to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Mr. Martin was born September 3, 1936 in Conway, SC, a son of the late Frank Hayes and Ruth Hucks Martin. He was of the Free Will Baptist faith and was dedicated to serving God in his Christian walk. He loved spending time with the loves of... Read More	Conway...Howard Martin, age 77, of Antioch Road, was called home to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Mr. Martin was born September 3, 1936 in Conway, SC, a son of the late Frank Hayes and Ruth Hucks Martin. He was of the Free Will Baptist faith and was dedicated to serving God in his Christian walk. Mr. Martin retired from the U.S. Coast Guard serving during Vietnam. After retiring, he would often say of his military service, "20 years, 2 months, and 26 days, a wake up and a go!" He loved spending time with the loves of his life; his wife, Betty; his children and grandchildren which he was deeply devoted to. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by two brothers, Hoyt Martin and Lloyd Martin and two sisters, Lunette Lewis and Corine Davis. Surviving are: his wife of 50 years, Betty R. Martin; his daughter; Debbie Boyd and husband Byron of Loris; his son, Howard Tony Martin and wife Missy of Conway; three grandchildren, Carmen Boyd, Garrett Martin, Rev. Cory Boyd; two brothers, Curley Martin of Charleston, and Billy Martin of Conway; and two sisters, Geraldine Mackey and Albertine Martin both of Conway. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Rev. Clayton Rivenbark, Dr, Tommy Bryson and Rev. Cory Boyd officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Pee Dee Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
