Description	:	HOWARD M. DUNN, son of Clarence and Dorothy (Wardlow) Dunn, was born at White Oak in Brown County on July 10, 1898 and departed this life at his home in Mt. Orab on April 7, 1985 at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 28 days. He was the eldest of 9 children, and worked with his father in the lumber and sawmill business and later into road construction, bridge building and carpentry. DUNN, son of Clarence and Dorothy (Wardlow) Dunn, was born at White Oak in Brown County on July 10, 1898 and departed this life at his home in Mt. Orab on April 7, 1985 at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 28 days. He was the eldest of 9 children, and worked with his father in the lumber and sawmill business and later into road construction, bridge building and carpentry. In his early teens, he learned to operate steam engines and threshing machines, and threshed for many farmers in the community. He was the proud owner of his ninth steam engine which he operated and enjoyed until the time of his death. He was a charter and life-time member of the Ohio Valley Antique Machinery Show at Georgetown, Ohio. He built and owned one of the first automobiles in this area; it was one of only six in the state. He built the first highway between Mt. Orab and Winchester, Ohio. He and his father had the first electric generator in Mt. Orab in their sawmill. He was a member of the Mt. Orab local school board for 20 years and was also Mayor of the Village of Mt. Orab for several years. He was the builder of many homes and businesses in the surrounding area. He was united in marriage to Iva M. Waits on December 7, 1922. To this union were born two daughters and two sons, all of Mt. Orab: Eileen Moon, Oma Lee Yost, Carroll and Lloyd. Other survivors include two son-in-law, George Moon and Homer Yost and two daughters-in-law, Wanetta Dunn and Pat Dunn; two brothers, Earl of Xenia, Ohio and David of Georgetown, Ohio. He also leaves 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren. In addition to these, he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends as far away as Texas. He was baptized into Christ at the age of 17 while attending the EUB Church at White Oak and later moved his membership to the Mt. Orab Church of Christ where he faithfully attended until his recent illness.
