Description	:	HOWARD O. BASENBACK, 79 of Huntington, W.Va., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday April 9, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born December 22, 1934, in Huntington, the son of the late Roy Howard and Beulah Hardwick Basenback. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son Gregory Allen Basenback, a brother Roy C. Basenback and two sisters, Delores Stevens and Phyllis Corns. BASENBACK, 79 of Huntington, W.Va., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday April 9, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born December 22, 1934, in Huntington, the son of the late Roy Howard and Beulah Hardwick Basenback. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son Gregory Allen Basenback, a brother Roy C. Basenback and two sisters, Delores Stevens and Phyllis Corns. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Newman Basenback; a daughter, Benita Basenback Spurlock and a son Jeffrey Boster, both of Huntington; grandchildren Chad O. Spurlock and Brianna Arnold; great-grandchildren Ali and Brayden Arnold, Rae-Anne, Kyler and Kaylee Spurlock; two special nieces, Donna Childers and Royce Lively of Huntington; two sisters-in-law, Donna (Phillip) Bowen and Carolyn (Thomas) Parker and a host of extended family and friends. He served in the U.S. Army as a communication technician. He retired from H.K. Porter Co., and later became the owner of the Sewing Bee. He was a loyal member and served as Treasurer of the Community Holiness Chapel for 40 years. The family will receive friends after 10 a.m. on Saturday at the mortuary. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Phillip Bowen and Rev. Hewlett Trogdon officiating. Burial and military graveside rites will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.beardmortuary.com.
