Description	:	Howie Lang, son of John B. and Nettie Howie Lang, was born March 27, 1894, in Madison Township, Poweshiek County, Iowa, and died Monday, October 25, 1982, in St. Francis Manor in Grinnell, Iowa. Mr. Lang received his education in a rural school. On December 6, 1916, he was married to Estella Hendrickson in the home of Allen and Ellen Lang by Rev. W. B. Wilson. Read More	Howie Lang, son of John B. and Nettie Howie Lang, was born March 27, 1894, in Madison Township, Poweshiek County, Iowa, and died Monday, October 25, 1982, in St. Francis Manor in Grinnell, Iowa. Mr. Lang received his education in a rural school. On December 6, 1916, he was married to Estella Hendrickson in the home of Allen and Ellen Lang by Rev. W. B. Wilson. Mr. Lang was a lifelong resident of Madison Township having lived on the same farm since the age of four. In addition to farming he was well known as breeder of Ayrshire cattle and served as a director in the National Ayrshire Association. Mr. Lang was a long time member of the Madison Church of Christ where he was active in church affairs and served for many years as a deacon. Survivors include his wife, Estella; four sons, Dr. Merle Lang of Cumming, Maynard Lang and Jack Lang, both of Brooklyn, and Dr. Larry Lang of West Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Guilford (Evelyn) Moore of Grinnell and Mrs. Daryl (Irene) Gallagher of Newhall; twenty two grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren;; and six great grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and four grandchildren.
