Hoyt was a native of Randolph County, a lifelong resident of Ramseur, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a full time farmer and a member of Pleasant Ridge Christian Church. Survivors: daughter, Pamela Burgess Brown (Gary),of Folly Beach, SC, sons, Wayne Burgess (Donna), of Ramseur, Jeff Burgess (Barbara), of Ramseur, step daughter, Teresa Craven (Chris), step sons, Michael Langley, Mark Langley, grandchildren, Cory Brown (Kelsey), Eric Brown(Katlyn), Kylie Shelton (Jack), Rachel Hairr (David), Adam Craven (Brittany), Caitlin Craven, Victoria Langley, Michaela Langley, great-grandchildren, Jackson Hoyt Shelton, Avery Shelton, Cole Brown, Aubrey Craven, special friends, Ricky and Teresa Locklear, and caregiver, Mandy Phelps.
