He was born Nov. 22, 1902 in Marion County, the son of Vess Burk and Stella Eree. He had spent the past 50 years in Bussey. He had been a coal miner and had retired from the Maytag Co., in 1965. He was born Nov. 22, 1902 in Marion County, the son of Vess Burk and Stella Eree. He had spent the past 50 years in Bussey. He had been a coal miner and had retired from the Maytag Co., in 1965. He married Hazel Green on May 20, 1939 at Knoxville. He is survived by his wife; one son, Delmar (Bud) Burk of Bussey; one daughter, Brenda Burk of Des Moines; the grandson he and his wife raised, Bryan of Bussey, as well as two other grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, and one sister, Sabre Rector of Minburn. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1989 at the United Methodist Church in Bussey with Rev. Timothy Henry officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery near Bussey.
