Description	:	H.B. WESCOM, PIONEER, DIES Hubert Burton Wescom, 71, who came to Edmunds vicinity in 1886, died at his home early Sunday morning. He had suffered a heart attack the day previous. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Eddy chapel, Rev. N.E. McCoy officiating. Interment will be in the Edmunds cemetery in the spring. Mr Wescom, whose home was 723 Third Street SE, was born December 16, 1876, in Belvidere, Vermont, the son of Mr and Mrs J.B. Wescom. He came to Edmunds community with his parents, who took up a homestead there. He attended schools in Edmunds and after his marriage to Doria McCrackin in Jamestown November 1, 1899, they lived on Mr Wescom's homestead seven miles west of Edmunds for four years and then moved into that town. The family come to Jamestown in 1919, lived a short time near Eldridge and in 1924 moved to a farm in Ypsilanti. Mr and Mrs Wescom retired in 1946 and came to Jamestown. Survivors are Mrs Wescom, three daughters, Mrs Brooks Dunwoodie, Melville; Mrs William Boelke Jr, Jamestown; and Mrs Marcia Lawrence, Billings, Montana; three sons, Louis, Billings; Clyde, Ypsilanti; and Hubert, Vancouver, Wn., and 12 grandchildren. A daughter, Lieutenant Louise Wescom, died December 9, 1944, while serving as a WAC in the U.S. Army. Two children died in infancy. STUTSMAN COUNTY RECORD Thursday 4 March 1948 p1
