Description	:	Hubert J. Grabenbauer, 62, of 2812 190th St., died Tuesday evening, Sept. 12, at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Alexander Wild officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery with flag folding ceremonies conducted by the American Legion. Born Aug. 4, 1927 in Marshalltown, he was the son of Pius F. and Agnes M. Hala Grabenbauer. He was educated in the Marshalltown parochial schools and graduated from St. Mary's High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On Feb. 7, 1948 in Marshalltown, he was married to Virginia M. Specht. He had been employed at Fisher Controls as a drafting supervisor and engineering assistant for 38 years, retiring in 1982 due to a disability. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and was active in various radio-controlled airplane clubs. Preceding him in death was his father and an infant brother. Survivors include his wife, Virginia, two sons and a daughter, Alvan Grabenbauer, Mark Grabenbauer and Lisa M. Grabenbauer, all of Marshalltown. Also surviving are seven grand-children, his mother, Agnes Grabenbauer of Marshalltown, and a sister, Mary Ann Huseboe, also of Marshalltown. [Times-Republican, Marshalltown, IA Sept 14, 1989]
