Thomas Jones officiating. He was born April 18, 1897, at Thayer, Iowa, to William and Mary (Emery) Knotts. He spent his childhood in Iowa. Thomas Jones officiating. He was born April 18, 1897, at Thayer, Iowa, to William and Mary (Emery) Knotts. He spent his childhood in Iowa. He lived a short time in Nebraska, then moved back to Iowa until 1927, when he came to the valley. He was a World War I Army veteran. He married Myrtle Leonard Jan. 5, 1934. He was employed by Co-Op Oil for 15 years, then was employed at West Nebraska General Hospital until his retirement in 1976, after 20 years. He was a member of the church and a past member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife; son Loren of Silverthorn, Colo., sister Fairy Gingrich of Gering; four granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, four brothers, an infant son, and son Gary Knotts. ###
