Burial is to be in Prospect Hill cemetery. The body will lie in state from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Home for Funerals. Mr. Parmer was born Nov. 15, 1879, at Winfield, Kan., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Devore Parmer (born Palmer, 1819-1891). After the death of his father, his mother and three sons left Winfield and moved to Allen, Neb. Mr. Parmer was then 11 years old. He grew to manhood there and in 1900 was married to Miss Nora Lenox. Their first home was at Allen. Mr. Parmer later managed lumber yards at Belden, Petersburg, and Tilden, and then for twenty years was a traveling representative of the Knapp-Spencer Hardware company of Sioux City. For three years, he was employed at Norfolk by the Eichelberger Lumber company, retiring about a year ago. Surviving are his wife: four daughters, Mrs. Roy Scott, Richland, Wash.; Mrs. Jess Beaton, Norfolk; Mrs. Guy Ritchie, Barron, Wis., and Miss Beatrice Parmer, Fairbury; seven grandchildren, the five sons of Mr. and Mrs. Ritchie, and the two daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Scott; two brothers, A.D. Palmer, Norfolk, and Carl S. Palmer, Grand Junction, Colo. Mr. Parmer was a full brother of A. D. and Carl S. Palmer, although their names are spelled differently. Their grandfather's name was Palmer, but so many persons pronounced it "Parmer" that he decided to change the name. Mr. Parmer retained that name, while his two brothers restored their name of Palmer. Memorial managed by 6th cousin
