He died at 2:05 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2007, in his residence. Born Nov. 13, 1923, in Chatsworth, Ill., he was the son of John E. O'Donnell and Helen Baker O'Donnell. He was married Nov. 24, 1945, at St. Joseph's Church in Logansport, to Everel Moyer, who survives. Mr. O'Donnell retired as manager and a vice president of Weldstar Company, where he had been employed 59 years. He was a United States Army 75th Infantry Division veteran of World War II and the Battle of the Bulge, Mr. O'Donnell had also fought in Germany, France and Belgium. He was a member of the VFW Post 3790 and the Disabled American Veterans. A 1942 graduate of Pulaski High School, he recently attended his 65th class reunion. His interests were family, work, gardening and NASCAR. Mr. O'Donnell was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Hugh Michael and Wanda O'Donnell, Star City; daughters and sons-in-law, Christina Ann and Doug White, Logansport; Sharon and Tim Rice, Logansport; E. Diana Wilson, Logansport; and Cindy and Jerry Felz, Idaville; daughter-in-law, Suzanne O'Donnell, Fort Payne, Ala.; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Bonnie O'Donnell, Winamac; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Raymond Page, Monon; sister-in-law, Patricia O'Donnell, Winamac; brother-in-law, Paul Moyer and his wife, Lana, Logansport; 16 grandchildren, Craig O'Donnell, Glenn O'Donnell, Kimberly Hall, Stacia O'Donnell, Abigail Shepherd, Amanda Kitchell, John T. White, Kristy O'Donnell, J.D. Barnhardt, Melissa Norman, Angela Bennett, Jessica Moore, Clint Moore, Robert Wilson, Eric Felz and Sherri Blount; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Sons, Tom O'Donnell and infant son, Wayne O'Donnell; brother, John W. O'Donnell; and sister Margaret Weaver preceded in death. Father Michael McKinney will officiate at the services. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Buck Cemetery in Thornhope. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kroeger Funeral Home. A Scripture Service will take place at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, with Deacon Juan Rodriguez officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Parish or American Cancer Society.
