Hulda Schrenk, daughter of John and Katherina (Brenneise) Schrenk was born April 25, 1913 at Greenway, SD. She grew up and attended school seven miles east of Greenway. They made their home on... Read More	Hulda Fischer, 94, of Eureka died September 12, 2007 at Avera Eureka Health Care Center. Hulda Schrenk, daughter of John and Katherina (Brenneise) Schrenk was born April 25, 1913 at Greenway, SD. She grew up and attended school seven miles east of Greenway. She worked on the family homestead until her marriage. She was united in marriage to Arthur C. Fischer on October 11, 1932 in Church of God Seventh Day Church, rural Eureka. They made their home on his parent's homestead five miles north of Eureka raising small grains and livestock. In 1945, they moved into Eureka. Once her children were raised, she worked as a cook at the Eureka Hospital and nursing home for five years. She occasionally helped on the family farm. In 1978, they retired. In May of 2001, she entered the Eureka Health Care Center. Her husband died March 30, 2007. Hulda enjoyed quilting, gardening and tending a large garden. She was a member of Church of God Seventh Day and the Eureka Senior Center. Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn (Otto) Mitzel of Rapid City, SD, one daughter-in-law, Delores Fischer of Lodi, California, two sisters, Loma Baumbach of Lodi, California and Malinda (John) Crisp of Sutherlin, Oregon and four grandchildren, Mary Ann Brooks, Mick Mitzel, Mona (Ross) Benight and Daren Fischer and six great-grandchildren. Her parents, husband and one son, Mylo preceded her in death. Condolences may be sent to www.carlsenfh.com Carlsen Funeral Home of Eureka have been entrusted with arrangements.
