Beam, b. abt. 1833 Martin Rufus Beam, b. 19 Sept. 1838 Andrew J. Beam, b. 1842, d. 1862 Johnson E. Beam, b. 1844, d. 1862 Peggy Beam, b. 1850 John Franklin Beam, b. Jan. 1, 1850 according to Bible record; probably an error due to the new year and year-long habit of writing 1850. John Franklin Beam was more likely born in 1851, since he was not listed in the 1850 census. Huldah was married first to John F. Wellmon who died near Goldsboro, NC during the Civil War. According to his death certificate, Hulda's second husband, Samuel Caldwell Dalton, died 31 Dec. 1925 and was buried in Waco, North Carolina. Samuel Dalton is probably buried at St. Paul's Methodist Church Cemetery. His sister, Lettie, and brother-in-law George Harmon are buried there as well. Samuel was listed with them at the time of the 1920 census. Hulda had become an invalid after suffering a stroke in 1912.
