Her funeral was held Monday, Aug. 4, 1997 at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home with the Reverend Jeff Martinson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mary Ann Geranen was born Aug. 2, 1917 to Frederick and Rose Elaine (Korpi) Geranen at Frederick, graduating with the class of 193. She then attended Aberdeen Commercial College, graduating in 1939. Mary Ann Geranen was born Aug. 2, 1917 to Frederick and Rose Elaine (Korpi) Geranen at Frederick, graduating with the class of 193. She then attended Aberdeen Commercial College, graduating in 1939. After college, she worked for Clyde Campbell as his secretary. She married Elmer Brick on March 16, 1941 at Aberdeen. They lived in Aberdeen until 1956 when they moved to Concord, CA. She worked at a nursing home for 17 years and then retired. The returned to Aberdeen in 1981. She became a resident of ManorCare Health Services in 1997. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed crocheting, dancing and working in her flower garden. Survivors include her husband of Aberdeen, one son, Richard (Judy) Brick of Clayton, CA; two daughters, Sharon (John) Kohler of Audubon, MN and Debra Brenna of Jefferson City, MO., one brother, Stanley Geranen of Aberdeen, one sister, Delores Winter of Portland, OR; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters. Casketbearers will be nephews: Ronald Marklund, Dennis Geranen, Alan Geranen and Roger Nixon, all of Frederick; Kerry Nixon of Sioux Falls, and Fred Geranen of Aberdeen.
