Pribnow, 97, of Scribner died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Good Samaritan Center in Scribner. Ida Poppe was born Dec. 8, 1903, in rural Scribner. She attended District 36 School. She was a lifetime Scribner resident and was a homemaker. She married Otto F. Pribnow Feb. 7, 1929, in Omaha. He died March 2, 1974. She was a member of United Lutheran Church in Scribner and was active in the Neighborhood Club. Survivors include: a son, Otto J. (and wife, Emmy) Pribnow of Scribner; two daughters, Shirley A. Pribnow of Scribner, Marcella J. (Mrs. Don) Thielfoldt of Uehling; a sister, Martha Dahl of Oakland; eight grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by four infant siblings, six brothers and five sisters. The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Lutheran Church in Scribner. The Rev. Susan Butler will officiate. Visitation is 3-9 today at Spear-Johnson Funeral Home in Scribner with a prayer service at 7:30. Burial will be in Scribner Cemetery in Scribner. A memorial has been established to United Lutheran Church.
