Description	:	Ida Dell Lindley Cantrell, 92, of Greenville, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, moved to her heavenly home on October 23, 2020. Ida Dell, as she was known by friends and family, was born August 11, 1928. She was raised on the family farm in Gaffney, SC, was a graduate of Winthrop College in the field of education, and taught in Greenville County Schools for over 30 years. She married the love of her life, Marion Virgil Cantrell, Sr. on November 11, 1949. They began their life together in Greenville, where they lived their remaining years raising 5 children.... Ida Dell, as she was known by friends and family, was born August 11, 1928. She was raised on the family farm in Gaffney, SC, was a graduate of Winthrop College in the field of education, and taught in Greenville County Schools for over 30 years. She married the love of her life, Marion Virgil Cantrell, Sr. on November 11, 1949. They began their life together in Greenville, where they lived their remaining years raising 5 children. Ida Dell was a faithful supporter of her husband in all that he did. Ida Dell and Virgil were faithful supporters and leaders in their local church, Tanglewood Baptist, their entire married life. Ida Dell continued to support her church even after Virgil passed away in 2017. She also contributed to many other charities. Mrs. Cantrell was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. J.B. Lindley; her husband of 68 years, Marion Virgil Cantrell, Sr.; and her grandson, Matthew Conrad Cantrell. She is survived by her children, Marion Cantrell, Jr. (Cindy), Tommy Cantrell (Carolyn), Karen Marrett (Hosea), Nancy Cantrell, and Richard Cantrell (Ashley); her five sisters, Anna Bell Whitson, Daisy Lemmons, Willie Jean Humphries (Ted), Carol Holcombe, and Jessie Blanton; 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-great-grandchildren. Burial in Graceland Cemetery West.
