Description	:	Ida Kelsey, 95, died Friday, Jan 29, 1993, in her daughter's home. Ida Isabelle Clarke was born April 22, 1897, in Profitstown, Ill. She moved with her parents to Minor County where they located near Howard. In 1906, they moved to Fedora and she attended Fedora School. She married Howard Barlow Kelsey on Jan. 29, 1913, in Fedora. For several years she... Read More	Ida Kelsey, 95, died Friday, Jan 29, 1993, in her daughter's home. Ida Isabelle Clarke was born April 22, 1897, in Profitstown, Ill. She moved with her parents to Minor County where they located near Howard. In 1906, they moved to Fedora and she attended Fedora School. She married Howard Barlow Kelsey on Jan. 29, 1913, in Fedora. For one year they lived with the Clayton Kelsey's, south of Fedora, after which they moved to their new farm home three miles south of Fedora. They lived there until 1930 when they moved to Fedora. For several years she was a cook at Fedora School. From 1942 to 1945 she was a nurse's aide for Dr. John Tschetter in the Samaritan Hospital in Huron. She owned and operated the Dew Drop Inn Cafe in Fedora from 1945 to 1954. In 1957 and 1958 she worked as a nurses aide at the Winnebago Nursing Home in Rockford, Ill. Her husband preceded her in death in 1958. At various times between 1940 and 1979 she took care of many disabled people in her home in Fedora. Beginning in 1979 she shared her time at her home in Fedora and her apartment in Huron for eight years. She then lived in her apartment full time until Nov. 1991, when she made her home with her daughter, Bernetta Root, in Huron. She was a long-time member and honorary deaconess of the Fedora Endeavor Presbyterian Church, a long-time member and pianist for the Fedora Rebecca Lodge, long-time member of the Fedora grandmothers club and a member of the Presbyterian Church ladies aid; Fedora, Huron and Cavour Senior Citizens and RSVP at Huron. Survivors include five children: Mrs. Frank (Bernetta) Root, Huron; Mrs. Carl (Evelyn) Braa, Artesian; Mrs. Ole (Bethel) Hall, Bryant; Blair Kelsey, Mitchell; and Mrs. Glen (Bona Mae) Murry, Rockford, Ill.; a daughter-in-law; three sons-in law; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
