Description	:	Ida K. Mathers, age 100, of North Platte, passed away August 10, 2010 at her home. She was born June 20, 1910 to Frank and Anna Johnson Haddock in Ringgold, Nebraska. She grew up in Ringgold and the North Platte area. In her younger years she was raised by her Grandma Johnson. She was a nanny for the Langford and Polous families. She later married Clarence J. Mathers on June 5, 1935 in Julesburg, CO. The couple moved to Brule where they farmed before moving to the Mather's ranch, near Tryon. The couple moved to North Platte in 1945.... Read More	Ida K. Mathers, age 100, of North Platte, passed away August 10, 2010 at her home. She was born June 20, 1910 to Frank and Anna Johnson Haddock in Ringgold, Nebraska. She grew up in Ringgold and the North Platte area. In her younger years she was raised by her Grandma Johnson. She was a nanny for the Langford and Polous families. She later married Clarence J. Mathers on June 5, 1935 in Julesburg, CO. The couple moved to Brule where they farmed before moving to the Mather's ranch, near Tryon. The couple moved to North Platte in 1945. She later worked at the Stanford Lodge in North Platte. Ida was very active in the North Platte Senior Center, delivering Meals on Wheels for many years, serving over 1,400 hours. She was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles Club. She enjoyed dancing with her friends, wherever the dances were. She enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her 3 daughters, Marylene Houser of Littleton, CO, Patricia Albers of Sidney, NE and Verdena (Doug) Knott of North Platte; 1 son, Daniel (Martha) Mathers of Maxwell; sister-in-law, Eldora Bomberger of North Platte; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband C.J. in 1973; a daughter, Karen (Yates) Mathers; 2 grandsons, Delbert Wheeler and Joseph Yates; 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Adams & Swanson Chapel with the Reverend Melvin Brown officiating. Burial followed at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens in North Platte.
