C. Bishop died at her home in St. Paul on Thursday afternoon, April 14, after a lingering illness from consumption. She returned only a few weeks ago from a visit to her two daughters in Michigan and the home of her youth in New York, having failed to find the relief she sought. She was a patient sufferer and met the end calmly as befits a good woman, a loyal wife and a devoted mother. Ida Knowles was born in Albany county, New York in 1855, being a little more than 49 years old at the time of her death. She was married to Isaac C. Bishop at South Westerlo, N.Y., in September, 1873, where they resided for a short time before coming to Nebraska. Mr. Bishop came west in the spring of 1874 and took a homestead two miles northwest of town. He was joined by his wife a year later and the family made their home there until about fifteen years ago, when they removed to St. Paul. Mrs. Bishop was the mother of eight children, seven of whom, with her husband, survive. They are: Orloff R. Bishop of St. Paul; Mrs. Edith Fuller and Mrs. Alice Starkweather of Leslie, Mich.; Winnie W. Bishop, Mrs. Lena Rubeck, Addison Bishop and Edward Bishop of St. Paul. The youngest is a boy of 11 years. The funeral was held from the family residence Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Elder T.G. Bartlett of the Church of God officiating.
