Description	:	Ida Marie Tomka, 88, of Norfolk, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016, at Heritage of Bel Air in Norfolk. She was born in Stanton County, Nebraska, on the family farm, on November 4, 1927, the daughter of Emil and Hannah (Weichmann) Dupsky. Ida attended rural school, after which she continued to help on the farm. On November 27, 1946, Ida married Lawrence Tomka, in Harlan, Iowa. They made their home on a farm in Stanton County. She was born in Stanton County, Nebraska, on the family farm, on November 4, 1927, the daughter of Emil and Hannah (Weichmann) Dupsky. Ida attended rural school, after which she continued to help on the farm. On November 27, 1946, Ida married Lawrence Tomka, in Harlan, Iowa. They made their home on a farm in Stanton County. Seven years later, they moved to Norfolk where Ida began her 25 year career at Dale Electronics. She retired in 1992. Ida was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Aid. She also belonged to the VFW Post 1644 Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, especially on Sunday afternoons when her family routinely came for lunch. Ida is survived by: her children: Lawrence Tomka, Jr., Dale Tomka, and Sharon and John Amen; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; sisters-in-law, Adella Dupskey and Barbara Oleson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; son, Laddie; five brothers; and two sisters. Funeral Services on Friday, August 19, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk.
