She is survived by two sons, Cecil of Boone and Forrest of Des Moines; one daughter, Mrs. Andrew Bates of Ames; eleven grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Jessie Bobo of Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one son and her husband, Arthur who died in 1942. Officiating the services will be rev. Robert Baker. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery." Born April 1, 1882 near Maxwell, Mrs. Backous was a lifetime resident of Story County. Surviving are two sons, Cecil, Boone, and Forrest, Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Andrew Bates, 1307 Kellogg Ave.; 11 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Jessie Bobo, Nevada.
