Mrs. Harvey Musser, who was taken to the Sacred Heart hospital at Garrett a couple of weeks ago for an operation died at that institution on last Sat. morning. Death was due to pneumonia following a second operation on Wed. for cancer of the stomach. Mrs. Musser was born in Dekalb Co. and has been a resident of the county during the 66 years of her life. She had been ill for some time and a couple of weeks ago was taken to the hospital where she submitted to an operation and it was found she was suffering from cancer of the stomach. On last Wed. she was again operated on and pneumonia developed causing her death early on Sat. morning. The body was brought to the country home southwest of town and the funeral services were held from the U.B. church on Mon. afternoon conducted by Rev. A.A. Turner of the Methodist church. Burial was made in the Hamilton cemetery. Obituary Ida May Hamman Musser, daughter of Adam and Rebecca Hamman, was born in Dekalb Co., IN, on Jan. 21, 1861 and died in the Sacred Heart hospital at Garrett on May 28, 1927, aged 66 years, 4 months and seven days. She was married to Harvey Musser on Dec. 29, 1883. To this union were born five children: Effie Ellen Richey, of Hamilton; Sherman Elsworth, of Hamilton; Florence Ethel Hodges, of Waterloo; Velma Edna Lemon, of Columbia, OH and Floyd Eugene of Hamilton. She leaves five brothers and sisters: Lida Duncan, of Waterloo; Laura Mays, of Spokane, WA; Cora Roherbaugh, of Heming Ford, Neb; Miles and Jessie of Montpelier, OH. George W. Hamman, James B. Hamman, Ruby C. Hamman, David Lewis Hamman and Adam E. Hamman are the brothers and sisters who preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn their loss the husband and father, five children, twenty-five grand-children and one great-grand-child. She was baptized when a child in the Methodist Episcopal church. She was a member of the Hamilton Star. She will be missed by all who knew her.
