Description	:	Ida Martin, Exira, Iowa, is Audubon County's oldest citizen. There have been 21 Presidents come and go in the White House since 1879, the year Rutherford B. Hayes was President. Ida was 103 on January 13, 1982. Ida (Kilworth) Martin was born on a farm southeast of Exira now occupied by the Darrell Kilworths and is the daughter of the late "Grandma" Kilworth who lived to be 109 years 9 months; this still makes Ida a young person. Ida (Kilworth) Martin was born on a farm southeast of Exira now occupied by the Darrell Kilworths and is the daughter of the late "Grandma" Kilworth who lived to be 109 years 9 months; this still makes Ida a young person. She had two brothers and two sisters who are now deceased. She married Bruce Martin on October 19, 1899 and they farmed until moving to town in 1940. Mr. Martin passed away I 1958. Ida continued to live at their home on north Kilworth Street. She enjoyed her flower garden, crocheting and morning coffee with neighbor ladies. She came to live at the Exira Care Center March 29, 1978. Ida continues to have reasonably good health and a very alert mind. She has three living children: Keith of Exira, Karl of Grand Junction, Iowa, and Esther Marks of Ft. Collins, Colorado and a son Lowell, deceased. There are five granddaughters including Mrs. Marvin Sorensen,Exira; Alisfae Martin, Grand Junction, Iowa; and Mrs. Gene Little, Mrs. Alma Boyer, and Mrs. Edward Boyer, all of Ft. Collins,Colo.
