I do not know for certain which is correct, but for the purposes of this memorial, I have used the year on her stone. IDA MAY BENNETT Funeral services were held Saturday at Tama for Mrs. Ida May Bennett, 92, who died December 28 in Tama. Rev. M.L. Scott of the Baptist church in Tama was in charge. Burial was in Shaul cemetery in Ottumwa. Mrs. Bennett was born July 27, 1858, near Cincinnati, Ohio. She and George Wilson Bennett were married March 25, 1874. In 1876 they moved to Tama, where they lived until 1902. They came to Ottumwa in that year, and Mr. Bennett farmed in this county for several years. He died February 15, 1929. After her husband's death she lived with her son, Ernest W. Bennett, 322 West Fourth street, until six years ago. For the past six years she has made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Etta Corns, in Tama. Her son Ernest of Ottumwa died November 25, 1950. Surviving besides her daughter in Tama are six grandchildren, Ralph Corns of Houston, Tex.; Mrs. Neva Winders, Tama; Fred L. Bennett, LeClaire, Iowa; Mrs. Ralph E. Myers, Berwick, Pa.; Mrs. Carl McCrory, Los Angeles; and Mrs. Harry C. Harter, Galesburg. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Kintz, Canton, Ohio.
