Root, died Sept. 20, 1906 and her father, Levi B. Root died March 4, 1910. In her girlhood days she was converted and united with the Baptist church in later years she was united with the St. Paul M. Belcher was born in Jones county Sept. 4, 1859 and died Oct. 12, at the age of 62 years. Her mother Eliza M. Root, died Sept. 20, 1906 and her father, Levi B. Root died March 4, 1910. In her girlhood days she was converted and united with the Baptist church in later years she was united with the St. Paul M. E. church of Cedar Rapids. Her home had been in Cedar Rapids for a number of years. She has put forth noble work in the capacity of nurse. In her social, as well as her business life, she won a host of friends. Beside her many friends, she also leaves to mourn her loss two sons, Arthur F. of Sykeston, N. D.; and Fred B. of Los Angeles, Cal.; three daughters, Mrs. Lulu Dewell of Clarence, Mrs. Florence Jones of San Francisco, Cal., and Mrs. Ona Clay of Cedar Rapids. Two brothers, Frank L. and Will B. of Oketo, Kans., and ten grandchildren. The sufferings of her mother were made lighter during the last few years through the untiring efforts, the loving kindness and tender care shown by her daughter, Ona. Telegrams of deepest sorrow have been received from her daughter Florence and son Fred of California. -------------------------
