Description	:	Ida Hilz, 85, Beulah, died July 17, 1998, in the Beulah nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, with the Rev. Kris Nyman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Delmar Becher, Carl Fischer, John Heier, Jerome Koppi, Randy Van Pelt and Gordon Matson. Ida was born Dec. 7, 1912, at Delmont, S.D., a daughter of Martin and Emilia (Uttecht) Schutz. She was raised in the Otter Creek area. On Jan. 3, 1932, she married Carl Hilz Jr. at Beulah. Ida worked for the Joachim Memorial Home in Beulah, and also took care of her neighbor, Katherine Neidemeyer. Ida enjoyed sewing quilts. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Joachim Memorial Home, and later the Beulah Community Nursing Home, which is now the Knife River Care Center. Carl died Oct. 21, 1992. Ida had a great compassion for her grandchildren and enjoyed taking care of her family's animals. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Helmuth ""Doc'' and Helen, Beulah; three grandchildren, Carey and Randy Van Pelt, Beulah, Steve and Darlene Hilz, Canyon Lake, Calif., and Carla and Keith Harildstad, Waukon , Iowa; seven great-grandchildren, Erica, Brittany, Lindsay, Heather, Steven, Joseph and Daniel; four sisters, Clara Becker, Randall, Minn., Wilma Wituchi, Little Falls, Minn., Elsie Partlow, Great Falls, Mont., and Emma Mees, Bismarck; and one brother, Ludwig Schutz, Ronald, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; one son, Duane; and one brother, Otto. Bismarck Tribune
