Plaggemeyer - Big Timber Pioneer - March 21, 1979 Ida O. Plaggemeyer, 67, died Saturday night at the Pioneer Nursing Home in Big Timber. She was born April 5, 1911 near Stavanger, Norway, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Ostrem. She came to the United States when she was 12 years old and attended grade school in Big Timber and graduated from Sweet Grass County High School. She then attended the College of Great Falls graduating in 1938 and later taught school. She was married to John Plaggemeyer on November 1, 1940 in Red Lodge and they ranched on Big Timber Creek. Mrs. Plaggemeyer is survived by her husband, John Plaggemeyer of Big Timber; four sons, Bert, Louis and Jack, all of Big Timber and Ted of Bozeman; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Lorayne) Stermitz of Corwin Springs, and Mrs. Calvin (Mary) Sarver of Wilsall; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Big Timber Lutheran Church with Pastor Eugene W. Nilsen officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Lowry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers will be Jim Fellows, Quentin Indreland, Gordon Osen, Harold Faw, Sam Langhus and John Drivdahl. Soloist will be Mrs. Svend Mauland and organist will be Mrs. Randy Schiele. Selections will be "Amazing Grace" and "Pass It On." Contributor: Donna Harkness (49618312)
