Voelker was born on July 16, 1934, in Madison, SD, the daughter of Dwight John and Cristine (Johnson) Voelker. She was baptized at Colman Lutheran Church, Colman, SD and confirmed at Willow Creek Lutheran Church rural Dell Rapids, SD. Idella and her family moved to a farm between Colman and Flandreau, SD. She graduated from Colman High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to John Zwart on November 30, 1952. He died in July of 1990. Idella worked at the Sexauer Grain Company in Brookings for 31 years and retired on March 28th, 1992. She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Parriott on August 21, 1993 at Lake Campbell. Idella was active in Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, the Mary Martha Circle, the VFW Auxiliary, Lake Campbell Improvement Association, a member of Lake Campbell Lutheran Church. Idella and her husband Bill reopened the new Danceland on Lake Campbell on August 1 1991 and sold it in 1993. Idella and Bill moved to Bella Vista, AR in the fall of 2003. They were members of United Lutheran Church. They enjoyed golf, cards, bowling, dancing and all of her family and friends. In the summer of 2016, Idella and Bill moved back to Brookings, SD. They became members of First Lutheran Church.
