Funeral services were at the United Church of Christ in Erwin, Thursday, March 13 with Reverend Marji Brewton officiating. Burial was at the Erwin Cemetery. Read More	Idor Severson, 96, passed away at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in De Smet on March 9, 2014. Funeral services were at the United Church of Christ in Erwin, Thursday, March 13 with Reverend Marji Brewton officiating. Burial was at the Erwin Cemetery. Idor was born on May 25, 1917 to Ben and Clara (Bjordahl) Severson at Erwin, SD. He attended twelve grades of school at Erwin. During World War II he served in the South Pacific as an airplane mechanic. Idor also farmed and drove a school bus for the ErwinSchool for twenty-three years. He also served on the Erwin Town Board as clerk and treasurer for thirty years. During his life Idor was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Erwin where he served as treasurer for several years and a member of the American Legion in Erwin. Idor enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and watching baseball. On October 12, 1947 Idor married Ruth Papendorf in Wausau, WI. They made their home in Erwin. Idor survived by his wife, Ruth, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
