Description	:	Ila Hobrock, 105, of Natoma died at Redbud Estates in Plainville on June 4, 2013. She was born Esther Iola Masters to Miles A. and Myrtle (Ives) Masters on a farm in the Pleasant Ridge community in Rooks County southwest of Natoma on November 30, 1907. Ila was married on April 29, 1934 to Kenneth Hobrock. They spent their married lives farming east of Natoma. She was born Esther Iola Masters to Miles A. and Myrtle (Ives) Masters on a farm in the Pleasant Ridge community in Rooks County southwest of Natoma on November 30, 1907. Ila was married on April 29, 1934 to Kenneth Hobrock. They spent their married lives farming east of Natoma. She remained at her farm home following Kenneth's death in 1987 until she moved to Redbud Estates in 2006. Ila and Kenneth had two sons, Gilbert of Natoma and Brice of Manhattan. Ila was an accomplished pianist and organist. She studied piano at Washburn College and gave music lessons to generations of local children. She began playing piano at the Methodist Church in Natoma, where she was a member, as a teenager and continued to play for more than 80 years, up until the time she moved to Redbud. She was preceded in death by her parents, Miles and Myrtle, her brothers, Cecil and Vernor, and a stepfather, Alonzo McFadden. She is survived by her sons, Gilbert and his wife Celeste of Natoma; Brice and his wife Shirley of Manhattan; six grandchildren, Roger of Oklahoma City, OK, Melissa McCarty of Wichita, Marcy Schafer of Manhattan, Randall of Concordia and Gretchen Guarino of Buffalo, NY. Eight great-grandchildren survive. Services are pending for 11 A.M. on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Natoma. A private burial of the cremains will take place at the Natoma City Cemetery before the church memorial service. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Natoma is in charge of the memorial service arrangements. Please check back later for a full obituary.
