She was born on April 28, 1929 to Alvy and Bernice Garretson in Haxtun and spent her childhood in the Fairfield Community. After graduating from Haxtun High School, she attended North Park College and Colorado State College of Education, receiving both her bachelor's and master's degrees from the latter. In December of 1957 she married Mel Naggatz. She was born on April 28, 1929 to Alvy and Bernice Garretson in Haxtun and spent her childhood in the Fairfield Community. After graduating from Haxtun High School, she attended North Park College and Colorado State College of Education, receiving both her bachelor's and master's degrees from the latter. In December of 1957 she married Mel Naggatz. She treasured the privilege of mothering her two sons and found herself frequently seeking God's wisdom in nurturing them, especially pertaining to their spiritual lives. She was always grateful for the Lord allowing her to lead each of them to accepting Christ as their personal savior. Her professional opportunities included primarily first grade in District 14 Colorado (Derby) and Amherst and high school counselor in Lander, Wyoming for 10 years. She tried to serve only in organizations she felt were beneficial to others and tried to limit serving on boards and committees to the same goal. She regarded the most important event in her life as when her personal relationship to Jesus Christ began. She enjoyed many hobbies and traveling, but people were her primary focus and she enjoyed fellowship with them. Survivors include two brothers, Loren "Pat" and wife Dola Garretson, Sterling, and Zeke and wife Maurine Garretson, Eaton; also nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and friends whom she cherished. Her parents, sister Maxine and sons, Delwin Keene and Kerry Brent precede her in death. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 31* at the First Baptist Church, Holyoke, with Reverend Gary Jones officiating. *Burial was at Holyoke Memorial Park
