Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. John Witvliet officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Broek was born to Gerrit and Ella (Franken) Altena on September 27, 1926, in Sioux Center. She received her education in Sioux Center. She married William J. "Bill" Broek on December 28, 1945, at First Christian Reformed Church. The couple farmed in the Sioux Center area. She later worked at Dordt College library and bookstore for 25 years. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church. Survivors include her husband of 56 years; three daughters, Rose and her husband Bob Musselman of Omaha, Paulette Braam of Orange City and Becky and her husband Mark Van Ommeren of Orange City; six grandchildren; a brother, Julius (Nancy) Altena of Belmont, Michigan; seven sistersin-law, Dorothy Altena of Lake Park, Margaret Altena of Sioux Center, Cornelia Broek of Rock Valley, Cora Broek of Sioux Center, Mathilda (John) Van Beek of Ireton, Bertha Klein of Sioux Center and Chris (Pete) Schouten of Ireton; four brothers-in-law, Jim Franken, Gaynor Te Grotenhuis and Cornie (Berdie) Broek, all of Sioux Center, and John (Gert) Broek of Sioux Falls; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Sam, Elmer and Paul Altena; a sister, Janet Van Essen; five brothers-in-law, Neil Van Essen, Dave Broek, Arend Broek, Bill De Koter and Clarence Klein; and six sisters-in-law, Annetta Altena, Jose Altena, Sena Altena, Margaret De Koter, Nell Franken and Elsie Te Grotenhuis.
