KERSEY SOPHIA – Mrs. Ina Lee Kersey, 75, of Sophia passed away December 26, 2009 at Hospice Home at High Point. She was born February 19, 1934, in High Point to Walter Roscoe Hill and Lena Robbins Hill. She was a member of Providence Wesleyan Church in High Point where she taught Sunday School and was involved in children's programs. Mrs. Kersey was married to William Clinton "W.C." Kersey, who preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Hill. Mrs. Kersey is survived by two sons, Clinton Kersey and friend Ann Haigler of Sophia, and Jeff Kersey of Trinity; two daughters, Lynn Plummer, and Lisa Wilson and husband Jay, all of Sophia; two grandchildren, Katie Lynn Plummer and Jay Steven Wilson; two brothers, Dink Hill and wife Violet of Sophia, and Larry Hill of Sanford; three sisters, Frankie Coltrane and husband Horace of Alabama, Nancy Trusdale and husband Fred, and Betty Bryant and husband Rick, all of Sophia; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale by Rev. Ron Haithcock. Interment will follow in Marlboro Friends Meeting Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday at the funeral home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Lynn Plummer. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262 or to Providence Wesleyan Church, 1505 E. Fairfield Road, High Point, NC 27263. The family of Mrs. Kersey would like to thank Dr. George Sanders and his staff, the staff of the Cancer Center at High Point Regional Hospital, as well as Westwood Health and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice of the Piedmont for the generous care given to Mrs. Kersey during her illness.
