Ina Mae died Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Alpine Village in Verdigre, Nebraska. Ina Mae Tichy was born Ina Mae Magdefrau on April 9, 1929, to Fred and Katie. She was the youngest of five siblings – one brother, Donald, and four sisters, Earline Magdefrau Custer, Opal Magdefrau Whitney, Berla Magdefrau Tilton, and Lois Magdefrau Netherda. All of her siblings are deceased. Ina Mae grew up in the Niobrara area. On October 25, 1947, Ina Mae was united in marriage to Harry Tichy at Center, Nebraska. They were blessed with five children: Michael, Cindy, Luanne, Mary, and JoAnn. Ina Mae worked alongside her husband after purchasing Marshall’s Store which then became Harry’s GW. After closing the store in 1976, Ina Mae worked for the Knox County Accessor’s Office in Center. In 1984, she moved to West Point and worked in the Cuming County Accessor’s Office alongside her husband. They both retired in July of 1992. Ina Mae moved back to Niobrara in 1996. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1948. She enjoyed playing a little golf, bowling, playing cards, having coffee with her friends, and taking trips. Ina Mae is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael (Carol) Tichy of Springfield, South Dakota, Cindy (Jim) Findley of Duluth, Minnesota, Luanne Neumann of Niobrara, Nebraska, Mary (Charlie) Johnson of Rutledge, Minnesota, and David Mausbach of Columbus, Nebraska; grandchildren, Wayne Tichy, Krissy Encinias, Denny Niedzielski, Lisa Aldinger, Jason Neumann, Cecelia Wood, Kim Peterson, Rebecca Mausbach, and Jacob Mausbach; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Katie; husband; daughter, JoAnn; brother, Donald; and four sisters, Erlene, Opal, Berla, and Lois.
