Read More	The Billings Gazette (Billings, Montana) 2 - November 1999 - Tuesday - Page 6 Hayden, Idaho --- Ina Mae (Pewitt) Potter, age 88, a former Laurel, MT resident died Thursday October 26, 1999 in Hayden. Ina was born August 10, 1911 in Dent county, MO to Silas & Ida (Stephens)) Pewitt. She moved with her family in 1915 to Laurel. Ina graduated from the Laurel High school in 1930 as the Great Depression set in and was fortunate to soon find work as a telephone operator. It was there that she became acquainted with Blaine Eshom, the night roundhouse foreman, who made frequent calls through her switchboard. They were married in 1937. When Blaine retired from the Northern Pacific Railroad in 1950, Ina’s family moved to Sequim, WA, to enjoy the temperate climate. In 1951 the family moved to Kingston, WA where Ina again worked for the local independent telephone company. She started as an operator and later went into selling directory advertising. Blaine suffered from several heart attacks starting in 1953, so in 1958 the family moved to Gig Harbor, WA so he could be closer to medical care. Ina worked for the Tacoma News Tribune Newspaper office in Gig Harbor, Blaine died in March of 1958. Ina founded the Tide Laundromat in East Gig Harbor in 1959. The business was successful and kept Ina busy. She met John Potter in 1960 and they were married in 1961. In 1964 they moved to Noxon, MT after John’s retirement. They moved to Coeur d’ Alene in 1977. John died in 1963. Ina moved to Autumn Haven II in Haydn in 1995. Ina is survived by a son, Coy Eshom of Port Orchard, WA; a grandson, Steve Eshom of Vancouver, WA; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; brothers, Harold Pewitt of Woodland, CA and Howard Pewitt of Laurel, MT. Her husbands Blaine Eshom and Jack Potter; brothers, Melvin, Ormond, Dorse, Henry and Coy; and her sister Jane, preceded her in death. A memorial service was held at Smith Memorial Chapel in Laurel, MT on Thursday, November 4, 1999. Contributor: Lawrence Lough
