Description	:	On Saturday afternoon, August 17, 2019, Inez Bridgers Perkins, 89, of the Rosewood Community, moved to her Heavenly home. Inez was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family and set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them throughout their lives. Inez was born in Wayne County on March 4, 1930 to the late Dewey and Pearl Rhodes Bridgers. Read More	On Saturday afternoon, August 17, 2019, Inez Bridgers Perkins, 89, of the Rosewood Community, moved to her Heavenly home. Inez was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family and set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them throughout their lives. Inez was born in Wayne County on March 4, 1930 to the late Dewey and Pearl Rhodes Bridgers. She was married to the love of her life, Calbert Perkins and worked on the family farm with him for over 50 years. Inez also served as a payroll clerk with Wayne County Public Schools and later worked as a teacher’s assistant at Rosewood Elementary School until her retirement. She enjoyed the many opportunities given to her to help impact the lives of so many children that after her retirement she continued to keep children in her home. Inez was a longtime member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church. Devoted to her church, she served on the memorials committee, the bereavement cooking ministry, and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. Inez got great pleasure in cooking for her family and could often be found sharing with others in her community. She also enjoyed yard work and gardening, as reflected by her beautiful yard. Inie, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was a true Christian lady who loved God and lived each day showing those around her what faith in action is all about. She was caring, giving, loving, and yes --- feisty! To know her was to witness a rare blend of kindness, strength, independence, humor and love. She will be remembered every day. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Pine Forest United Methodist Church followed by a service to celebrate her life at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. Billy Olsen officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery immediately following the service. Inez is survived by her children, Beverly Keen and husband Steve, Calbert Lee Perkins Sr. and wife Sheri, and Beth Carr and husband Alan; grandchildren, Calbert L. Perkins, Jr. (Jennifer), Melissa Capps (Nicholas), Jessica Griffith (Caleb), Blair Barnes (Josh), Adam Keen (Casey), Emily Waddell (Joel) and Taylor Carr (Summer); and great-grandchildren, Adair, Keller, Preston, Campbell, Brady, Josie, Josiah, Judah, Justice, Asher, Callie, Carlee, and Lilly Faith. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Bridgers.
