Description	:	Elaine Dather, 85 years of Fremont, NE, died Monday, January 31, 2011 at her home in Fremont. She was born April 15, 1925 in Madison County, Nebraska to Roy and Margaret (Hoffley) Murphy. She grew up at Battle Creek and graduated from Battle Creek High School. Elaine and her husband farmed until the early 1950's at Battle Creek before moving to Norfolk and then Creighton. In 1957 she moved to Fremont. She was employed by Fremont Area Medical Center until 1987. Elaine Murphy married Forrest Dather July 16, 1944 at Fairview Church near Battle Creek. Forrest died January 11, 1999.... In 1957 she moved to Fremont. She was employed by Fremont Area Medical Center until 1987. Elaine Murphy married Forrest Dather July 16, 1944 at Fairview Church near Battle Creek. Forrest died January 11, 1999. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fremont. Survivors include: son, Gary and wife Marilyn Dather of Fremont, NE; daughters, Vicky and husband Herb Mayhew of Glenwood, IA, Debbie and husband Mike Lackey Sr. of Fremont, NE and Connie Dather-Sheffield of Fremont, NE; sister, Pat Klug of Norfolk, NE; 11 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Forrest; and daughter, Jo Dather Hart. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 4, 2011 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Sean Tyler will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, February 3, 2011 3-8 P.M. with family receiving friends 6-8 P.M. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery, Fremont.
